Church of COVID-19 Censors Free Speech

Uploaded 4/14/2020, approx. 3 minute read

Yesterday, YouTube started to delete my videos on COVID-19, the pandemic. Not one of my videos contains any conspiracy theory. I have spent my entire adult life fighting off conspiracy theories, pseudoscience and other nonsense. All the information in my videos has been thoroughly vetted and researched. Some of it had become obsolete, some of it had been proven wrong by time and accrued knowledge, and then I took pains to correct this information in future videos. My videos are academic, they are stable and solid.

It seems that what I had done to deserve this mistreatment by YouTube is that I dared to disagree with the dogma of universal social distancing.

Many mainstream medical experts agree with me actually. They also say that universal social distancing is a bad idea and that it would lead to a second wave of infections which will be far more deleterious and dangerous than the first one because the population will not have developed herd immunity.

Actually, quite a few countries such as Sweden, United Kingdom until recently, numerous other countries in Africa and Asia, they don't have social distancing. They have tracing, they have testing, they have many things. They protect the vulnerable populations but they don't have social distancing.

But it seems that if you dare to question the policies of the administration or more precisely the healthcare establishment in the United States, it is a sufficient basis nowadays for heavy-handed authoritarian censorship.

YouTube is a monopolistic utility. It is a private company, technically speaking, but it controls such a big chunk of the video upload market that it should be regulated as a monopoly.

Monopolies are not allowed by law, by constitutional law to censor speech. YouTube had numerous other options at its disposal.

One idea, YouTube could have added a disclaimer to flag videos that it deems inaccurate, misleading or dangerous. Instead, YouTube chose the reprehensible path of the most unsavory regimes in human history. YouTube chose to muzzle dissent and to digitally execute its barriers.

This may be the most long-lasting damage of this pandemic, which is abating.

The reversal of human and civil liberties hard-won over centuries with bloodshed. YouTube's egregious misbehavior is exactly what gives birth to conspiracy theories, the very conspiracy theories that YouTube claims to be suppressing.

If one looks at YouTube's behavior, one is compelled to ask, what gives? What is this happening? Could it have anything to do with the fact that Google is a major beneficiary, economic, financial beneficiary of the pandemic, about to receive massive contact tracing contracts? If this is true, and of course it's mere speculation, then who can we trust? If our information purveyors suppress utterly legitimate speech of conspiracy theories, not misinformation, utterly legitimate speech, who can we trust and why this is happening?

We gave rise to the Church of COVID-19. It's a new religion, and like every religion, it has its doctrines, it has its dogmas, and it has its saints.

Dr. Fauci is a saint. Dr. Birx is such a saint. Like in other religions, other nascent religions, like in other young religions, if you dare to question the saints or the dogma, you're beheaded.

This is exactly what happens to people who dare to question the dogma or its couriers, its messengers. It's a slippery slope. It's a dangerous path towards the suppression of free speech regarding other issues, because today you suppress free speech regarding a health care issuetomorrow you may be suppressing political speech.

And the day after you may be suppressing oral speech. In dictatorial regimes throughout history, even the most extreme dictator didn't start by suppressing the entirety of speech. Even the most extreme dictators in history started by suppressing specific speech, anti-nation speech directed against the nation, speech directed against the majority and for certain minorities, a speech that doubted government policies.

Congratulations, there was an erosion of incremental salami type, you know, sausage. And at the end of which, people discover to their shock and amazement that they can't say anything without the prior approval of the state. And if they fail to obtain it, they find themselves in very, very dark places.

All my videos are still available, mysteriously, on my other channel on YouTube, which is Vaknin Musings. Vaknin, like my name, V-A-K-N-I-N, Musings, M-U-S-I-N-G-S. One word, Vaknin Musings. There's a link to the Vaknin Musings channel on my main channel. So if you look at like recommended channels or something like that, you will see a link to this channel as well. All the videos are still available there. I don't know for how long.

Thank you.

Social Media Turn Sinister: We, Orphaned Adolescents, Should Rebel

Professor Sam Vaknin criticizes YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter for their censorship and manipulation of content, claiming they are fostering confirmation bias and undermining free speech. He argues that these platforms are monopolies that should be regulated and broken up. Vaknin also accuses social media platforms of infantilizing users and promoting narcissism, while suppressing dissenting voices. He warns that the suppression of free speech could lead to violence and calls for peaceful resistance against social media platforms.

Social Values and the Healthcare System (Webinar on Health Care, Health Economics, and Policy)

Professor Sam Vaknin discusses the issues of equity, efficiency, and solidarity in healthcare systems, particularly in light of the COVID-19 pandemic. He argues that privatizing public goods, such as healthcare, leads to market failures and inefficiencies, and that public goods must remain public to be efficient in the long term. Vaknin also emphasizes the importance of redesigning healthcare systems to better serve the poor, disenfranchised, women, and minorities.

COVID-19 Panic Merchants: Lies, Conspiracies, and Statistics (Oh, and Science)

Dr. Anthony Fauci has been accused of providing misleading information about the COVID-19 death rate, using a higher rate in popular media than in academic papers. This has led to conspiracy theories about the government's intentions. The panic created by the pandemic is intentional to keep people indoors, as medical professionals and politicians are unsure of the virus's capabilities. Some experts argue that COVID-19 is not much worse than a bad flu, and that the current measures may force the virus to mutate and become more dangerous.

Watch This to Make Sense of the World

The current societal landscape is characterized by a historical struggle between elites, middle classes, and masses, with elites historically maintaining control through political and economic structures. The emergence of the middle class created a bridge between the elites and masses, leading to a temporary truce where the masses sought to join the elite rather than overthrow them. However, recent technological advancements have empowered the masses, enabling them to challenge elite control and assert their power through populist movements. The pandemic has further exposed the fragility of the elites' narratives and the inequalities within society, prompting a call for the masses to disengage from the systems that perpetuate their subjugation and to embrace a form of passive resistance.

Transhumanism: Culture Replaces Evolution (with Benny Hendel)

Culture serves as a form of evolution for humans, extending beyond genetic and biological adaptation to include the totality of human creativity, which influences both mental and physical environments. This dual inheritance theory posits that culture exerts selective pressure, shaping not only societal structures but also gene expression, thereby impacting future generations. As humans design their environments, they can trigger genetic adaptations, allowing for rapid evolution compared to other species. The potential for a transhumanist future raises concerns about societal stratification and the ethical implications of technology's role in shaping human evolution, emphasizing the responsibility humans have in directing their own evolutionary path.

Narcissistic Termites and Our Hunter-gatherer Future

The lecture discusses the profound societal changes brought about by the pandemic, likening it to historical cataclysms that have led to new eras. It emphasizes the five stages of grief as individuals cope with the loss of familiar structures and institutions, highlighting feelings of denial, anger, bargaining, and depression. The speaker argues that we are witnessing a shift from synthetic institutions to organic ones, suggesting a regression to hunter-gatherer societal structures characterized by individualism, separation of sexes, and communal self-sufficiency. Ultimately, this transition reflects a deep mourning for the past and a struggle to adapt to a rapidly changing world.

COVID-19: Nature's Revenge, Culling, or Eugenics? (and Homosexuality)

COVID-19 can be viewed as a consequence of human actions that have disrupted the balance of nature, leading to a pandemic primarily affecting urban areas and wealthier populations. The pandemic has allowed wildlife to reclaim urban spaces, highlighting the impact of human encroachment on natural habitats. Experts warn that unless the root causes of biodiversity loss and environmental destruction are addressed, future pandemics may be inevitable. Ultimately, the relationship between humans and nature is complex, with the need for a shift in perspective towards coexistence and sustainability rather than exploitation.

Vaccine Defiance is Psychopathic, Narcissistic, Paranoid, Intellectually Challenged

The lecture discusses the ethical implications of vaccination, emphasizing the obligation individuals have to protect others from harm, particularly in the context of infectious diseases like COVID-19. It argues that while individuals have rights to their own bodies and choices, these rights do not extend to actions that could endanger others, such as refusing vaccination. The speaker highlights the moral calculus involved in balancing individual freedoms against the collective right to life and public health, ultimately asserting that the right to not be harmed by others supersedes the right to refuse vaccination. The conclusion posits that refusing to get vaccinated can be seen as a form of recklessness that endangers the community, warranting societal intervention.

Pandemic Slaves and Their Neo-feudal Masters: Envy-fuelled Insurrection

Income inequality is set to increase dramatically, exacerbated by the pandemic, which has decimated entrepreneurship and self-employment, traditionally pathways for social mobility. The consolidation of wealth will lead to a landscape dominated by a few large corporations, while the majority of the population will struggle in the gig economy, often working multiple jobs just to survive. The pandemic has accelerated existing trends, revealing a disconnect between the wealthy and the poor, where the rich become increasingly detached from the economic realities faced by the majority. This shift may result in a future characterized by social unrest and a growing resentment towards the wealthy, as the foundations of capitalism are challenged by rising poverty and declining opportunities for upward mobility.

COVID-19 Punishes Our Narcissism (Original Sin, WATCH 1st VID, Links in Description)

The coronavirus pandemic is seen by some as a solution to the ills of modern society, with the hope that it will restore solidarity, family, friendship, community, and harmony. However, this nihilistic state of mind has resulted in people violently castigating anyone who tries to restore calm and good sense to the conversation. The pandemic will be followed by a massive global but short recession that will probably last two quarters, but will be followed by a period of prosperity. The disruptive psychological effects of these health crises and the strain on interpersonal relationships will be felt long after the virus is gone, and possibly the greatest effect will be on the increasingly more atomized social fabric.
